How Does The LoyaltyRx Card Work?
Question: How is the card funded/loaded?
Answer: The LoyaltyRx Card is only funded after the COB adjudication process and provides real-time payment of benefit to the pharmacy. So the Pharmacy does not have to account for, or carry any receivables. Importantly, this process does not violate any pharmacy-PBM contracts.
Question: How can I ensure the program is being carried out the way I want it to?
Answer: The LoyaltyRx card has easily configurable business rules to ensure program compliance. You determine how you want the card to be used by the patient. For example:
- The states you want to be excluded ( IE: MA)
- The Maximum dollar amount that can be funded on the card for Co-pay & /or full Rx payment or as an instant savings?
- Do you want to be able to "reload" when the consumer has their 2nd or 3rd etc? Allow refills?
- Does your product have different forms/strengths & do you want all NDC #’s honored?
- Do you want other strengths of your product included in the offer?
Question: Doesn’t this card program simply reward cash payers?
Answer: No, the LoyaltyRx card can reward all of your patients (both cash payers and those covered by insurance).
Question: Can a pharmacist substitute for my product with a patient utilizing the LoyaltyRx card?
Answer: Absolutely not!… Since the loading of the funds on the card is tied to the Rx NDC#, there is no way your product can be substituted for. Opus health will reject any payment request which does not match your products NDC# during the adjudication process.
Question: Can I stop the program even after it is deployed?
Answer: Yes, if for some reason you wish to stop the program at some point (IE: going over budget due to increased redemption rate) this program could be stopped at any point. This feature is unique to the LoyaltyRx card program. The good news is that the only way you can go over budget is to drastically increase your sales and use targets. This increased revenue stream will more than fund your budget overrun.
Question: How does the process work for a "mail in" renewal?
Answer: Mail in pharmacy patients send in their "proof of purchase" to us at which time we will fund instructed amount (based on business rules) onto their LoyaltyRx card. The patient will also have the ability to do this via the web in early 2007.
Question: How does the process work for a "call in" renewal?
Answer: Patient calls in their renewal to the pharmacist then goes to pick up their prescription and brings their card. The process is performed the very same way!
Question: Can the LoyaltyRx card be used for "call-in" & "mail in" renewals
Answer: Absolutely! Patients always have the option to mail in their receipt for their Rx purchase and they will receive either a check or money loaded on their card.
Question: Who is the adjudication done through?
Answer: Opus Health performs the adjudification process for the LoyaltyRx card. Opus Health is probably the best known of all adjudicators ensuring the highest retailer acceptance rate and fastest turn-a-round.
Question: Does the Pharmacy need any special proprietary software?
Answer: No, unlike other programs which require special proprietary software (reducing acceptance levels) to perform their adjudication process for the LoyaltyRx card is already resident within the pharmacies. Our card utilizes their existing infrastructure and now new software is needed!
